Mighty Maths๐ŸŒ๐Ÿง

Aloha welcome back to my last blog for week 2,

This week my goal for maths was: complete a statistical investigation by collecting, displaying and discussing data. My task was to watch a video and then pick a variable from the sheet my teacher made. I picked bedtime and age.I put it onto a spreadsheet and made a bar chart. Then I made an info graphic with a title, a screenshot of the data I used, my and the two statements I made about the work. Here is my info graphic.

Did you know that from this survey Canterbury's most popular eye colour is blue? What colour are your eyes?

Writing ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Kia Ora welcome back to my blog,

This week for writing my was to: Revise and rework writing for clarity, impact and purpose. proofread for spelling, grammar and punctuation. We had to watch some videos about rewriting and revising and finish our rubric about the report we wrote. Since I had already done that I went through my writing and found evidence of goals I haven't ticked off. This will help me to tick of my goals faster. Here is a little example of one of the parts I highlighted as a goal.

Next I had to make a DLO ( digital learning object) about the top 3 punctuation to always remember when writing. Here it is!

Who do you look up to as a worthy and admirable New Zealander?
See you next time BYE :)

Fake VS Real news.๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ“˜

"Welcome to TV 1 for the 6pm news, Is everything we see on the internet real and should we believe it all".

This week my goal for reading was to: Use knowledge from text to combine with new ideas (own and others) to come up with new thinking, and make connections between other texts and general knowledge to expand meaning and pose questions, using more sophisticated texts. I read a text about fake news and how we can tell it apart from real news, Here is the info graphic I made that can help you to tell real and fake news apart!

Have you ever read fake news before? Let me know what you learnt from my drawing in the comments!

R.E Beatitudes๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Bonjour, welcome back to my blog.

This week for R.E we have learnt about the Beatitudes. The task was to make a quiz, crossword, poster or video explaining our understandings of the 8 different Beatitudes and how we can live them in our daily lives. The thing we chose to make also had to be visually appealing. I made a poster and have written everything down on it. Here is my poster I hope that you enjoy it.

Have you ever looked in to the beatitudes? Which one do you find most inspiring?

Reading!๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿ“˜

Bula, welcome back to the last blog for week 1,
This week my goal for reading was to: Make connections to the text. I had to read two stories about New Zealand and then write what I learnt from the text, my prior knowledge before reading the text and how some of the situations in the book relate to my life at the moment. I will be sharing and explaining the things that I related with my life.

First book was this:

I think the first text relates to my life because at the moment Covid-19 seems to be spreading quickly over the world and even staying in your house might not keep you safe from it! Maybe back when the influenza happened it would've been more difficult as they didn't have technology,TV's, cars or anything like we have in our days. This also relates because lots of people are passing away everywhere and it is very hard to stop it once it starts.

Second Book was This:

In the book it talked about a thing called the Boom and bust affect where everyone would go to the river that had gold but then it would run out so everyone would go to the next place.I think that the boom and bust relates to my life because when there is a new trend everyone jumps on it but then when people get sick of it they go to the next one. Little Biddy was the only female gold miner when this was set. I think Little Biddy relates to my life because in these days woman are inspired to do everything men do and she was one of the only lady gold miners but she worked just as hard as everybody else.

How much do you know about New Zealand's History. Tell me your favourite fact in the comments.
See you next time Bye:)

Tessellations๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿง

Aloha welcome back to the second blog of the week. This week in maths my goal was to: Identify and use the features of a figure that do not change (invariant properties) as it is reflected, rotated, translated or enlarged. We learnt about tessellations. A tessellation is a shape repeated multiple times to create a pattern. When making one of these you can't change the size or angle, you can't leave any gaps but you can use different shapes and rotate them. Here is the tessellation I made using this tessellation creator try it out and make your own if you would like. Here! Here is the tessellation I made, I hope you like it.

Have you ever made a tessellation? Describe to me what colours and shapes you used in the comments!
See you next time Bye :)

Wild Writing ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ

Kia Ora welcome back,

I'm nearly finished my first week of Online school, hope everybody had a great Easter. This week my goal for writing was, Give and respond to feedback. We had two tasks. The first one was to put one of our paragraphs on a doc and someone had t o give us a comment and we had to reply to it. Here is a picture of the teacher giving me some advice and me replying to it.
The second task was to make a poster on showing people how to give a good comment. Here is my poster I hope that you like it and can learn something from it.

Have you ever given someone advice on their writing? If so maybe you could give me some!
See you next time Bye :)
