Writing Term 2 Week 5! 😎🐨

Bula welcome back to my blog,

This week in writing I didn't have a goal. We had to write a narrative about one of the 4 prompts the teachers gave us. It had to be between 250-300 words. Here is the prompt I chose. It is called Creature from the deep. Here is my story hope you like it!

The bathroom door banged, as the wind blew through the opened rusty window. The fireplace crackled and popped as the orange flames burned the rotten old wood. Levi’s dark brown curly hair sat on the top of his head, along with the glasses that are wrapped around his rather large ears. His ocean blue eyes stared into the glass on the microwave as he checked on his dinner. Levi slurped down his spaghetti while he watched the 6 o’clock news. The weather was said to be very rainy and a thunderstorm was supposed to hit later that night. He got up from the couch and rang his mother.
“Hello mum, I’m very worried about the thunderstorm that is supposed to hit later this evening” I explained.
“Come over to mine you can use the spare room” she replied.
“Ok I will be right over”. I said with a warm feeling in my heart.
While I packed  my bags and got ready to head away, I continued to think about the long drive in the miserable weather. Thoughts were running though about the thunder storm hitting while I was on my way. I jumped in the car and began my drive. I was nearly half way as I heard a big bang coming from the sky. I could hear the waves banging against the shore as I drew closer and closer towards the beach.  As I drove past the beach a large wave flew over the concrete barrier that separated the beach from the road. I just dodged the water from hitting my car when something slimy and black looking landed on my windscreen. Then I heard a squirting sound as my windscreen was filled with black ink. Oh no, I pulled to the side of the road and called for help.

Give me some feedback about my story in the comments!
See you next time Bye :)

Reading Term 2 Week 5! 😎🐨

Kia Ora welcome back to my blog,

This week my goal for reading was to: Use questions to challenge the text, question the author, establish the authenticity of the text and state opinions. I had to use a 321 idea to make a google drawing about what I learnt from the text. Here is the text I read about boys and girls attitudes towards schools. Here is the 321 template I created.  I hope you like it!

If you read the text what is your opinion about it?
See you next time bye :)

Reading Week 4 Term 2!πŸ‘πŸ™ˆ

Aloha, welcome back to my blog.

This week my goal for writing was to: Identify several ideas, discuss the author's stance or purpose, and understand relationships in the text.

We had to pick a a text to read. I chose "six". It was about a girl called Hannah who had a best friend called Chelsea. It was her birthday party coming up and it started at 2. But Chelsea decided to invite everybody except Hannah to her house to see her new puppy and arrive late to Hannah's Party. We had to find 4 main ideas and put them into a template and full it out. There is four columns in the template. Main Ideas, Why the author put that in, Key relationships and what depicted them. Here is the template I fulled out. Hope you like it.

How would you feel if your best friend did that to you?

Complex Sentences Writing! πŸ‘πŸ‘€πŸ“˜

Bula welcome back to my blog,

This week for writing my goal was to: use complex sentences that are grammatically correct / proofread for spelling, grammar and punctuation. I had to show my thinking of 4 complex sentences. A complex sentence has two parts an independent clause which can be used as its own sentence, and then a dependent clause which depends on and independent clause to make it make sense. I used a google drawing to show my ideas of four basic complex sentences.

Tell me a complex sentence about your favourite Animal!
