Top Team😁🎀

Kia Ora, welcome back to my blog

Today i will be talking about Top Team. Last week on Friday we did Top Team. For this we got in to groups and did lots of fun activity's. My Favourite activities were the water ones. The aim of Top team is to learn to work in a team better, so there were 12 team building activities with lots of things to do. In one of them there was a sling shot and you have to shoot it and then the other people catch it and the people that have the most in the bucket at the end win. Another one was were you have a hula hoop and then you throw it and there are 3 sticks 1 was worth 20 points 1 was worth 40 points and the last 1 was worth 60 and whatever one you land the hula hoop on that's how many points you get. The water ones were my favourite because I love the water. In 1 of them everyone had a bucket and at the front there was big buckets full of water. Everyone sits in a line on the ground and then the person at the front fills their bucket with water then tips it over their head into the other persons bucket. But be careful if you don't extend you arms enough it gets tipped right on your head.

Have you ever done top team?
Do you like to work in a team or by yourself?

See you next time Bye :)

Tough Kids πŸƒπŸ

Bula, Welcome back to my blog.

Today I will be talking about Tough Kids. Tough kids is an event run bye sport Canterbury and is participated in  by lots of schools in Christchurch. You can dress up funny and have a run with lots of obstacles on the way. Some of the obstacles were things like crawling under a met in the mud, running through the ocean or being wt bye the big fire truck hose. My friends and I dressed up in rainbow order me being green. We wore a black top with a tutu the colour that we were. Here is an article on stuff about Tough kids if you would like to read it. Tough Kids article. It was so much fun and I hope to do it again next year. Here is a picture of me and my friends.

Have you done Tough Kids or something similar?
See you next time bye :)

Sport Reflection. ⚾πŸ„πŸ€

Aloha, Today I will be sharing with you my reflection on the sport we have been doing in school recently.
Over the past 4 weeks we have been doing sport on a Thursday afternoon we did, Lawn bowls, Cricket, Korfball and Softball.

Cricket.

In Cricket we just played a friendly game were you got to bat for 1 over and bowl 3 balls so we could fit everyone in. If we were doing something incorrectly our wood works teacher would politely correct us so that we can all get better at it.

Korfball
I've never played korfball before but who knew it was so fun. In Korfball the Man taught us all of the rules and we played. First of all he started of with 1 rule than he gave us all the rules and we were nearly playing a proper game of Korfball. Some of the rules are that you can't walk, step or dribble the ball, if the player is about to shoot and the defend is in line with the hoop it is a good defended shot and the defender gets the ball and boys can only mark boys and girls can only defend girls.

Lawn Balls
In lawn bowls we learnt how to hold the ball and bowl the ball. We did a hole heap of games one of the games was there was 3 hoops, one was worth 20, one was worth 50 and one was worth 100. So whatever one you landed the bowl in that is how many points you got.

I haven't down softball yet
Have you played any of these sports before? If so which was your favourite?
See you next time Bye :)

Create Task W6 😎

kia Ora, welcome back to my blog, today I will be showing you my week 6 create task.

This week my goal was: look for clues to confirm prediction. Before I read the text I made 4 predictions then as I read it I looked to see if I had made the correct or incorrect predictions. I added a comment to each prediction and information of it was right or not and why. I put evidence or my proof up on my comments. Here is my picture.

What did you do for reading this week?
See you next time Bye:)

Attitude talk !!πŸ˜₯πŸ‘

Aloha, welcome back to my blog!

Today I will be talking about the people that came in to school and talked about growing up, ATTITUDE. A man named Rory and a lady called Emma came in to teach us how to prepare for getting older and what to expect. Some of things they talk about that change in the body are, hands and feet, hair, sweat, Height and weight. They also talked about things that just happen to the boys and things that just happen to the girls. Another important thing they talked about was relationships. Relationships can change within our friends or even with boys. They said the key thing to remember is to just be a great friend. The next day we got split in to 2 groups by gender. They went a little bit more in to depth about more of the other things that can change for boy and for girls.

Have you had the Attitude talk yet?
See you next time bye :)

Create Task 😎

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog.
Today I will be talking about my reading create task for Week 5.
This week my goal for reading was  :
Use questions to challenge the text, question the author, establish the authenticity of the text and state opinions. The task we were set is to:  Identify and determine whether or not an article is authentic or not. Develop key questions that you would ask the author if you ever had the opportunity to interview them, as well as questions that challenge the text. We used a padlet to share our thinking. Here is my thinking about the questions on the padlet.

  1. Which article was authentic? How did you come to work this out? Give 2 examples from both texts to back up your reasoning as to why it was fake or authentic.
My answer was....

I think that the one about the homework is fake because there was simple mistakes that made it more obvious. The one I think is real is the one about St Lucia. I think it is real because she had more evidence to back him her points and more pictures and lots more information.

The 2nd book has more pictures and information and is also from a reliable source.

The first one has lack of information and is from an unreliable source.

2. Write two questions that you would like to ask the author if ever given the chance to do so.

My answer was....

1. Did you go to St Lucia, as child? If so was the way you did things there different, better or worse?
2. Did writing this book give you any inspiration to write another book, If you could go back would change the way you did things/ wrote it?

3.I think that the grammar, punctuation and lack of information shows that the article about homework one is fake also because there was not any evidence that backed up the main facts.

My answer was....

I think that the grammar, punctuation and lack of information shows that the article about homework one is fake also because there was not any evidence that backed up the main facts.

Have you ever read a fake article?
See you Next time Bye :)

Writing πŸ˜ŠπŸ“œ

Kia Ora welcome back,

Today I will be sharing a story I wrote a couple weeks ago about a recount of my birthday party. Here it is. I hope you enjoy it.

My Big Birthday Bash
8:01am
The 17th of August. My 12th birthday was finally here. I was so excited to open my presents and celebrate my birthday with my family and best friends. It wasn’t a very nice day, it was cold, miserable and rainy outside. First I opened my presents. I got a new necklace, some new earrings and a new hoodie! Next I went to watch my big brother play football. It was slippery and wet but the birthday spirit shone through, I was so happy for him, he is one of my best friends.

1:09pm
It was time for netball.I was so excited to pick, Maia and Ruby up. When we got to netball we warmed up then 10 minutes later. Tweet, the game had started. Although the referees had a little argument we still played well and were happy with our result. I got a few intercepts but the court was so slippery, so I also slipped a couple of times. My aunty showed up to netball and I was so happy to see her there as she once was in the representative canterbury team.

2:37pm
On the way home from netball we listened to music and had fun chatting in the back seat until we got home. It was time for a shower and put some nice, warm dry clothes on. I put on my new hoodie. I love it! It is so warm and soft.Maia and Ruby had a shower too and got changed out of their sweaty netball clothes. We waited for all the other girls to arrive.

4:30pm
Knock knock, the first people had arrived. Knock knock, more people! Knock knock the last  people have arrived. Dad went down to get the dinner from the fish and chip shop, while Mum prepared the dumplings, plates and sauces.

5:29pm
We jumped into the car and went to the movie theatre, we watched the dogs purpose 2. The emotions were crazy laughing and crying at the same time, wow, who says girls can’t double task. Mum made up some lolly bags for us to munch on during the movies.

7:38pm
After the movie I opened my presents. So many nice things and lots of chocolate. Sienna went crazy! Maybe she had too many lollies in the movie! She just couldn’t stop laughing. But if you know anything about here that's not very rare.

9:00pm
Everyone has gone home now, it’s so quiet! I have had a great birthday today but I’ve been so busy I think it’s time for bed now. Good night. zzzzzzzz

What are your favourite things to do at birthday parties?
 See you next time bye:)

Camp Reflection

Welcome back to my blog, today I will be talking about our camp.

Last week on Tuesday morning we headed to Wainui YMCA yr 7&8 camp. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get to camp and then we took a 3 hour tramp through the paddocks and over the hills. I stayed in cabin 3 with some of my friends. We returned back to school on Friday the 1st of November. Here is the reflection I wrote about camp and some of the stuff we did there.

What did I find challenging?
I found High ropes and the tramp to camp very physically challenging. The tramp to camp was very steep but I also enjoyed spending the time with my friends while we walked. I found this challenging as I had sore legs as it was so steep. High ropes I also found challenging because you needed a lot of upper body strength that I don't really have. Although I found these activity a little bit out of my comfort zone I still tried my best and enjoyed them.

What have I learnt during my time at camp?
During the raft building event we learnt how to tie knots, as we had to tie the barrels and logs together. We mainly learnt about how to stay safe or survive if you ever get stuck in the wild. We learnt how to make stretchers with rain jackets and a tarpoline. We also learnt how to make a fire and make a waterproof shelter.

What was my favourite part?
My favourite things at camp were spending time with my friends and coasteering. I loved coasteering because I love having fun/exploring in water and looking at the animals. I also liked swimming in the ocean and jumping of the rocks as I love the water.

What am I grateful for?
I am grateful for the instructors and the parents that volunteered to help make our camp the best it could be. I also thank the teachers for supplying food and for cooking all our meals. I'm also grateful that I could go as I know some people do not have the choice.

Have you ever been to camp? What are your favourite activities to do at camp?
See you next time Bye :)
