Reading W11🏁🐍

Kia Ora welcome back to my blog,
This week for reading my goal was to:
I had to fill out a table with a passage or sentence from the text and then write what we visualised using the 5 senses. When we got to our share workshop we shared how this helped us to have a deeper understanding within the text. I hope you like it.

Do you do lots of Visualising when you are reading?
See you next time Bye :)

Maths W11🏁🐍

Bula, welcome back to my blog,
this week for maths I did three goals.
Goal 1: Relate 3D models to 2D representations, and vice versa
Goal 2: Identify and sort 2D and 3D shapes into classes. Define the properties of the shapes and justify the decisions made.
Goal 3: Represent objects with drawings and models.
We had to fill out the blue document and the other two tasks were practical so I just put in on a drawing with photos of my work.

Can you draw 3d shapes?
See you next time Bye :)

Kia Ora welcome back to my blog,

This week I had 2 goals for reading. They were to:  Making connections - use prior knowledge to connect to the text. Make connections between texts and own life experiences, using more sophisticated texts and make connections between 2 texts. I made a slide with 3 connections and a venn diagram. I hope you like my work.

Maths W9 🐨😦

Kia Ora welcome back to my blog,

This week I had lots of goals around Perimeter, Area,Volume, Mass and Temperature. I had to do a practical task and two learning tasks. I then Made a Digital Learning object showing my learning. I did a measurement goal, volume goal, mass goal and a area one. I would love to share my learning with you.

I also did another quick question of Area so I will share it with you.  Maia fertilises her front lawn. It measures 20m by 30m. If she uses 3 bags of fertiliser how large of an area does each bag of fertiliser over. I figured it out by doing 20x30=600. She used 3 bags of fertiliser so we do 600 divided by 3 is 200.

Writing W8 😃📘

Aloha Welcome back to my blog,

This week for writing I had to plan and make a start on a narrative. Here is my plan so you can get an Idea about what I'm writing, then I will share a paragraph of my story.
(I have not finished my story so that will probably be shared on next weeks writing blog)

I hope you like my Ideas here is the start I have made to my story.

My chain started to chug as the dry brown grass was churned around by the rusty chain on my old blue bike. I continued to ride and jumped off my bike when I got to a short patch of grass. I knelt down onto my ripped denim jeans tying the shoelace of my dirty white converses. I grabbed the chain with my bare hands and when I pulled away my hands were covered in dark brown rust. I smack them against my legs brushing the rust away. I stood up and turned around to see a light grey rabbit sitting at my feet, I jumped in shock as I was surprised at what I had seen. She whimpered in the cold breeze. I walked to the back of my bike to see that the rabbit's tail was covered in blood and only hanging on by a short piece of fluff. I grabbed my red raincoat and wrapped the cold shivering rabbit in it. I lifted her up and put her into the front pouch of my bike. I  wrapped the chain back around the connections on my bike and pedalled as fast but as gently as possible until I got home. I picked the rabbit out of the basket and shoved my stand down onto the concrete. I raced up the stairs and opened the front door. I slipped my shoes off and walked quietly into the house toward the first aid box in the pantry. I grabbed a paper towel, a small bandage and a little pair of scissors. I slowly snipped  the extra fur off her tail, wet the paper towel, cleaned away the blood and wrapped it in a bandage. My head slowly turned to the right as I saw4  blonde pigtails flap up and down around the corner. I stood quickly in front of the rabbit trying to hide her. But all I could do was not enough. My two older sister  walked straight behind me all I could her was
“How Poor of you to bring dirty wild animals into our house!” One Screamed .
“This rabbit was hurt and needed some help, I was just trying to be kind” Charles replied in a trembling voice.

“Never will you do this again you dirty young man, GET OUT” The oldest shouted in his face.

Stay tuned for the finish result next week!

Writing W7 👓😅

Bula, welcome back to my blog,

This week my goal for Writing was to: Use show not tell when appropriate. We had to find a pobble and describe the setting using show not tell. I also turned 3 basic sentences into more described sentences using show not tell, Here they are!
It was hot : The sweat dripped off her forehead as she guzzled down the last little bit of her cold fresh water.
He was sad: The tears dripped down his face as he pulled the covers up over  his head
The man was stressed : He took a deep breath and  clenched his fists as he stomped over to his boss.
The girl was excited :She jumped in the air and let out a little scream as her Aunty brung in the new puppy.
Here is the pobble I used for my actual Paragraph!

And here is what I wrote to describe the setting.
I felt the bumps on the stem of the rose as the street lights flickered on and off. The rain sprinkled on to the concrete washing away the newly painted lines of the road. The gloomy winter's day faded into a gloomy winter's night as the river of tears ran down my cheeks. My nose twitches in the wind as my teeth chatter together. My nose and ears begin to turn purple as the snow starts to shower down. The goosebumps begin to appear on my skin as I curl into a ball on the parkside bench. The rose slowly slips out of my hand and away in the wind. I drift into a deep sleep dreaming about being in a warm house with a fireplace and blankets.

Write me a show not tell about how your day is going so far in the comments!
See you next time Bye :)
