Recipe

Aloha, welcome back to my blog,

Today I will be talking about the recipe I wrote. As you should know I picked Australia out of the hat so I have to bake something traditional to Australia. I'm making Anzac biscuits because they are traditional not only to New Zealand but also to Australia as we both celebrate Anzac day I thought this would be highly appropriate, to celebrate not only my home country New Zealand but also Australia's traditions. at the same time. We had to write a precise set of instructions on how to make that food and we have to make it for a shared lunch on Friday. All the different countries will have a couple different foods to share and we can try new cultures and traditions.

Heres my recipe on how to make Anzac biscuits.1 cup of flour
1 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of sliced oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup caster sugar
125g butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  1. Turn you oven to 160 C and line two baking trays with non stick baking paper.
  2. Add the oats, both sugars, coconut and flour into a bowl and mix.
  3. Now Pour the butter, golden syrup and water into a small pan and mix until smooth, after it is smooth add the baking soda.
  4. Next add the wet mix into the bowl containing the dry oat mix.
  5. Take the mix and roll it into small balls and place on the tray.
  6. Put the tray into the oven and cook for 15 mins or until golden brown.

Dianna Isaac

Kia Ora everyone,

Image result for lolly cake recipeThis term on every Friday a different group of people have been heading down to Dianna Isaac. We could choose out of a range of things to do there and after that you were put into your day and what you were going to be doing. Dianna Isaac is the rest home down the road from school. We go and chat with the elderly residents living in the homes about there past life and their present life. I chose to do baking. When I went to Dianna Isaac all of the residents were sitting in a big lounge. Next to the lounge there was a hallway. On the other side of the Hallway was a little room with tables. That's were we baked. Firstly we went and spoke to the elderly about coming to bake with us. After that we went and sat down. Slowly when the residents decided they would like to they bake with us they came and took a seat at the tables. We made some lolly cake and we had some orange juice with lemonade to go with. I really did enjoy going to Dianna Isaac I think it was a great experience and I can't wait to go next time.
