Reading W9

Aloha welcome to my blog, In week 9 for reading we used our novels to describe the characters we met along the way. We looked at the cast from the movie which also helped us with physical appearance as long as what we learnt about their personality through out the book. I created my task in a table on google slides. I hope you enjoy learning a little more about the characters.

Write a description of a character in a book you are reading at the moment.

Reading Week 8

Bonjour welcome back to my blog,

This week in reading my goal was to : Summarise, Identify at least one important idea and justify why it is important. I picked an important Idea from my novel then I wrote why I thought it was important, what impact I think it will have on the book and why the author wrote it. Here is my work from this week. Stealing books from the book burning

I think that this part is important because the book is called the book thief.  I think that she will find something in one of the books that will the change something in the story. I think the author wrote this so that she can base the rest of the book of about something that will happen with the book. I think that she is going to find something or memorise something from the book and then something bad will happen to her and then she will use what she has found in the book.

What book are you reading at the moment?

See you next time Bye :)

Novel study Reading. Week 7

Aloha welcome back to my blog,
this week for Reading we started a new novel study. I had to be at page 109 by this week and 258 by next week. I'm reading a book called the book thief. Before I got into the book I had to do a predicting task. I used a website called zeobb and created what looked like a conversation between two people using text messages. Here is my predicting task.
My next task was to pick four scenarios from the book and explain what that made us think about. I used a table on google drawings to show my thinking. Here is my task.

Thanks for looking at my blog. There will be more tasks about the book next week.
See you next time Bye :)

Reading Week 3

Kia Ora welcome back to my blog,

I think that this story will be about humans losing lots of different things due to new technology and robots. Maybe it will be about humans going instinct because there are new robots that act like humans and can do just as much if not more than humans, because they don't get tired until they run out of batteries. Also lots of people have already lost jobs because of robots in factories that can do the work so much quicker. They also never get sick or unwell so you can always count on them to be at work. We can find robots everywhere like in the ATM machine and even the self check outs in the supermarket. But if humans go extinct then who will make the robots? Everyone will just become lazy because they wont need to do anything cause of the robots.

What opinion words can I see in the text?

“I don't think”“I do think”“In my opinion””I don't believe”

What was included/ excluded from the text?

We didn't really get to hear the other side of the problem. We only got to hear all the negatives and none of the positives.

What bias may the author have?

The authors bias is aimed towards not having robots to the extent were they make humans extinct and we become like domestic animals.

Where do you as a reader stand on the issue?

I think that we do need casual robots that help us with random

things like the self checkouts in the supermarket but if they come to the point were humans aren't needed anymore I think that is unnecessary.

Here is my screencastify.

I hope you like all the work I have done this week!
What is your opinions about Robots and humans?

Reading Week 4 Term 2!👍🙈

Aloha, welcome back to my blog.

This week my goal for writing was to: Identify several ideas, discuss the author's stance or purpose, and understand relationships in the text.

We had to pick a a text to read. I chose "six". It was about a girl called Hannah who had a best friend called Chelsea. It was her birthday party coming up and it started at 2. But Chelsea decided to invite everybody except Hannah to her house to see her new puppy and arrive late to Hannah's Party. We had to find 4 main ideas and put them into a template and full it out. There is four columns in the template. Main Ideas, Why the author put that in, Key relationships and what depicted them. Here is the template I fulled out. Hope you like it.

How would you feel if your best friend did that to you?

Reading!🎩📘

Bula, welcome back to the last blog for week 1,
This week my goal for reading was to: Make connections to the text. I had to read two stories about New Zealand and then write what I learnt from the text, my prior knowledge before reading the text and how some of the situations in the book relate to my life at the moment. I will be sharing and explaining the things that I related with my life.

First book was this:

I think the first text relates to my life because at the moment Covid-19 seems to be spreading quickly over the world and even staying in your house might not keep you safe from it! Maybe back when the influenza happened it would've been more difficult as they didn't have technology,TV's, cars or anything like we have in our days. This also relates because lots of people are passing away everywhere and it is very hard to stop it once it starts.

Second Book was This:

In the book it talked about a thing called the Boom and bust affect where everyone would go to the river that had gold but then it would run out so everyone would go to the next place.I think that the boom and bust relates to my life because when there is a new trend everyone jumps on it but then when people get sick of it they go to the next one. Little Biddy was the only female gold miner when this was set. I think Little Biddy relates to my life because in these days woman are inspired to do everything men do and she was one of the only lady gold miners but she worked just as hard as everybody else.

How much do you know about New Zealand's History. Tell me your favourite fact in the comments.
See you next time Bye:)

Reading W7 😎🏁

Kia Ora Welcome back to my blog,
This week my for goal reading was: identify some text events and features, and discuss what they make the reader think about. I had to screenshot pictures from the text and talk about the features. Instead I chose to make my own pictures and talk about the features. Here it is I hope you enjoy.

Title

The title has a picture of a man looking into a black and white background. I think that the title has a picture so that when people see it they will be more drawn to reading the book if it has more pictures and less words. This story is also about war so I think that the picture is in black in white so it looks like a photo that was taken in the olden days.

Subtitles
I think subtitles are used to let people know what that page or paragraph is going to be about. This is the picture that was on the page I chose. I chose to show this picture because I think it shows a little bit about the subtitle.

Image
I think they put images in so it is easier to read and sometimes easier to understand because you can look at the images and figure out what the text is trying to say if you can't understand the text

What are your thoughts about these features?
See you next time Bye :)

Create Task W6 😎

kia Ora, welcome back to my blog, today I will be showing you my week 6 create task.

This week my goal was: look for clues to confirm prediction. Before I read the text I made 4 predictions then as I read it I looked to see if I had made the correct or incorrect predictions. I added a comment to each prediction and information of it was right or not and why. I put evidence or my proof up on my comments. Here is my picture.

What did you do for reading this week?
See you next time Bye:)
