Today I will be talking about the recipe I wrote. As you should know I picked Australia out of the hat so I have to bake something traditional to Australia. I'm making Anzac biscuits because they are traditional not only to New Zealand but also to Australia as we both celebrate Anzac day I thought this would be highly appropriate, to celebrate not only my home country New Zealand but also Australia's traditions. at the same time. We had to write a precise set of instructions on how to make that food and we have to make it for a shared lunch on Friday. All the different countries will have a couple different foods to share and we can try new cultures and traditions.
Heres my recipe on how to make Anzac biscuits.1 cup of flour
1 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of sliced oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup caster sugar
125g butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Turn you oven to 160 C and line two baking trays with non stick baking paper.
- Add the oats, both sugars, coconut and flour into a bowl and mix.
- Now Pour the butter, golden syrup and water into a small pan and mix until smooth, after it is smooth add the baking soda.
- Next add the wet mix into the bowl containing the dry oat mix.
- Take the mix and roll it into small balls and place on the tray.
- Put the tray into the oven and cook for 15 mins or until golden brown.
