Punctuation!

Perfect Punctuation
In class this term we have been learning to add lots of punctuation to our writing. We wrote a story abut meerkats, and we tried to use as much punctuation as  we could.

One summer's morning when I woke with a start I popped my head out of my dusty burrow. In the clear
distance hanging on a tall, healthy tree hung a bright, pink and yellow mango. I jumped with excitement as I
woke the other meerkats up.“Simon” I yelled.
“Yes boss right to it” said Simon with a lazy moan in his voice.
As Simon popped out of the burrow his long fingernails dug into the soft, golden sand. His eyes went bright
as he fell to the ground with amazement. I lifted his very heavy floppy body as all the other meerkats rushed
towards me. We walked slowly towards the tree as the ferocious volter flew down and landed on the barky,
brown tree. The queen of meerkats jumped out from behind the tree, she jumped for the fruit as her paw
clutched onto the fruit, the fruit fell to the ground. On its way down to the ground the big black voltur
swooped past and picked it up. The queen meerkat went flying through the sky, and that was the last that
they saw of her.
